Original Impressions Installs Fastest Sheetfed
Press In The Industry
Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 105 To Provide Increased Flexibility,
Efficiency & Enhanced Eco-Friendly Platform
Miami, Fla., –Original Impressions, LLC, a full service marketing
communications company, today announced that it has added Heidelberg’s
latest offset technology, the Speedmaster XL 105 press, to its arsenal
of offset printing presses. The new cutting edge XL 105 leverages
aerodynamic sheet travel technology that is designed for production
speeds of
18,000 sheets per hour (sph), making it the fastest sheetfed press
in the industry. Original Impressions’ addition of the
XL 105 will allow the Company to expedite project timelines, as
well as increase efficiencies in labor and production costs.

“We continually look for new and innovative ways to provide value-added
services to our customers,” said
Roland B. Garcia, Sr., founder and CEO of Original Impressions.
“This new press will enable us to better meet the increasing demands
of our customers with even more success, as it will double the capacity
produced by our other presses and provide us with a higher level
of automation and efficiency.”
The Speedmaster XL 105’s technology uses a fully streamlined process;
at the highest point is the 18,000 sph, mark-free sheet travel,
superior inking and HydroColor dampening unit and a six-color aqueous
coating unit that provides for premium gloss effects. Combined,
these features expand Original Impressions’ existing platform of
specialized printing services.
“Equally as important is that the new press supports our environmental
sustainability efforts,” said Garcia. “Our responsibility to the
environment is always at the forefront of our initiatives. We have
found that investments that help secure a better future for our
environment pay for themselves very quickly, and this new press
will enable us to significantly decrease our Company’s carbon footprint.”
Heidelberg’s firm commitment to the environment is in line with
the Company’s “green” efforts and was a key factor in selecting
the XL 105. The press’ cloth wash-up devices for the blanket and
impression cylinders use a minimal amount of solvent and water.
According to Heidelberg, CO2 emissions generated by material consumption
and printing processes of the press can be reduced by more than
five percent, paper waste by up to 80 percent, energy consumption
by more than 15 percent and waste by up to five percent.
The press is currently being installed within the Company’s 68,000
square foot facility, the footprint of which takes up more than
840 square feet. The installation required reinforcing the floors
in order to support the 60+ ton unit. The anticipated completion
date is set for early March 2008, with a press christening ceremony
planned shortly thereafter.
