NPES Offers Webinar On 2008 Economic Stimulus Act's
Investment Incentives For New Equipment Purchases
Reston, VA – NPES The Association for Suppliers of Printing, Publishing
and Converting Technologies, together with the Printing Industries
of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (PIA/GATF), will present
a special webinar, “Making the Most of the 2008 Economic Stimulus
Act,” on Wednesday, May 21, at 3:00 p.m. EDT. The webinar will show
why and how graphic communications companies that purchase new equipment
in 2008, vs. 2009, can derive huge savings based on the Economic
Stimulus Act of 2008 (ESA), signed into law earlier this year.
The ESA provides 50 percent bonus first-year depreciation on new
equipment purchased after December 31, 2007, and placed in service
during calendar year 2008. It also nearly doubles to $250,000 the
amount of any capital investment that can be expensed in tax years
beginning in 2008. The webinar will explain how participants can
apply these allowances to their specific investment decisions. It
will also demonstrate for them how to calculate the potential savings
from making an equipment investment in 2008 rather than in 2009.
“The Economic Stimulus Act of 2008 provides huge incentives for
investment in printing, publishing and converting equipment, but
because large capital equipment—such as that often installed in
our industry—requires more lead time for engineering and installation,
early action will be critical in order to take advantage of these
tax savings,” says Ralph Nappi, NPES president. “This webinar is
intended to provide guidance for both industry suppliers and their
customers on how to proactively take advantage of the ESA, rather
than letting this tremendous opportunity slip away.”
The webinar registration is $99 for NPES and PIA/GATF members,
and $199 for non-members. To register, phone: (800) 910-4283, or
