CHESTNUT HILL, MA -- October 6, 2008 – Print Buyers International
(PBI), the leading educator of professionals who buy printing, is
establishing a special industry group to serve the fundraising/nonprofit
market, it was announced today. The fundraising/nonprofit market
is a major buyer of print – $3.2 billion worth. There are 36,000
nonprofits in Massachusetts alone. Print Buyers International, LLC,
is establishing a special industry group to serve this dynamic market.
A series of free educational seminars on how to design and buy
print will be offered, according to Margie Dana, founder of PBI
and its member-based group, Boston Print Buyers (BPB). This new
series will be taught by Dana, former print buyer, and Frank Romano,
industry expert and Professor Emeritus of RIT (Rochester Institute
of Technology). Sessions will be sponsored by professional print
organizations throughout New England. Dates and details of these
educational sessions will be announced.
Margie Dana Quote
“The weakening of the economy hits nonprofits especially hard,”
noted Dana, “as funding resources dry up. Nonprofits are bracing
themselves for especially tough times ahead, and PBI, through its
local group Boston Print Buyers, will be delivering a range of special
sessions for marketers, print buyers and designers in these organizations.
By partnering with print organizations throughout New England, we
are able to offer these events free of charge.
“I can think of no one better equipped to teach buyers, including
graphic designers and marketing professionals, than Frank Romano.
After every seminar he’s ever delivered for our group, attendees
have been blown away by his knowledge and the value of his industry
information. And helping buyers and designers source print cost-effectively
is one of my own passions. Together, we have designed sessions ideally
suited for the nonprofit market. Attendees will gain a thorough
understanding of the print industry landscape, including how to
prepare materials for printers, how to source print, and how to
evaluate the types of printing and printers in today’s marketplace.
Getting more print value for a nonprofit’s budget – be it small
or large – is one of our focuses in this series.”
Details Coming
Details and locations will be announced in November. Interested
attendees (nonprofits only) should contact PBI at info@printbuyersinternational.com,
so that they can be added to PBI’s email list for future announcements
about this special series.
